ALISON BERRY, ESQ. Ms. Berry has been a lawyer for over thirty years and has practiced exclusively in Employment and Immigration Law for the last twenty five years. Her practice has been devoted exclusively to Immigration Law for the last ten years. She was previously a Staff Attorney and Deputy Director of the National Employment Law Project, Inc. in New York City and Staff Attorney at Sun International, Inc., a division of SUNOCO, in Pennsylvania. She is an honors graduate of Queens College of the City University of New York and of the Law School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is admitted to practice law in the courts of New York State and the Federal District Courts of the Second Circuit. She handles the full range of immigration matters before the administrative agencies as well as in the Immigration Courts. She is able to represent clients in all fifty states and in U.S. consular posts worldwide. Ms. Berry also serves as an Administrative Law Judge with the Westchester County Human Rights Commission and served as a Hearing Officer with the New York State Department of Education for over twenty years. She has served on the Board of Directors of Westchester/Putnam Legal Services (now Hudson Valley Legal Services) and White Plains Community Health Fair, Inc. She is a founding member of CHRYSALIS , a non governmental organization based in France devoted to the defense of Human Rights world-wide. Ms. Berry is a long-standing member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and presently volunteers at the Varick Street Detention Project, a collaboration of AILA and the New York City Bar Justice Center whose purpose is to assist unrepresented detainees at that facility. Ms. Berry is fluent in reading and writing French and is working on her speaking fluency. DAYANA CASSAMAJOR Ms. Cassamajor is an Haitian immigrant who serves as the office’s Legal Assistant and Secretary. She is fluent in French, Spanish, Haitian Creole and English. DAPHNE FLEETWOOD, Master of Arts. Ms. Fleetwood is a retired New York City Public School Teacher where she taught both English and English as a Second Language. Where needed, she is available to give English language instruction and otherwise prepare clients for the U.S. citizenship examination. CHRISTIAN LESECQ Christian Lesecq, based in Carrouges, France, serves as a Consultant to the firm on matters of international human rights law, the law affecting nationals of the European Union- French nationals in particular, and issues of international taxation. Mr. Lesecq also consults on matters of Informational Technology including development and maintenance of the firm’s website. Mr. Lesecq has served as legal counsel for their business in France to several large multinational corporations including Hallmark Cards, Avon Cosmetics, Genesco, Interlake, Mead Packaging and W.R. Grace and Co. Mr. Lesecq and Ms. Berry are two of the founding members of Chrysalis , a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) devoted to promoting human rights world-wide. |
